The Shiden-kai Exhibition Hall at the very edge of Shikoku’s western tip. It’s in such a remote place you couldn’t possibly get there without a car (my apologies), and I couldn’t have visited alone. I’m so grateful to my friend who brought his car and drove all the way from Kagawa.
The dented outer panels and rivet marks—you can see it all up close. That sense of authenticity. Full-scale replicas are nice and clean, but they can’t hold a candle to the real thing.

The removed parts are also on display, which will surely be of great interest to those who recreate internal mechanisms in their models.

It’s nice that there’s a walkway around it where you can look down from the height of the second floor and take photos from that angle.

The beautiful view of Kura Bay where this Shiden-kai was sunk. Taken from the hill just outside the museum—well, this is the kind of place you’ll find at the southwestern tip of Shikoku.

I took many photos, so please feel free to view them in the gallery at the link below.
